New wine, new wineskins! Here we are on the second day of the Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation (JPIC) training workshop. This new day focused on the Social Teaching of the Catholic Church and systemic transformation.

Today, 27th June 2024, we said our goodbyes to our confrere Francis Bomansaan, recently appointed Bishop of Wa, in Ghana. This Eucharist, concelebrated with the Superior General Stanley Lubungo, was Francis’ expression of thanksgiving for each confrere of the Generalate.

For our fourth day of training, we had two speakers : our confrère William Turnbull and Mrs. Augusta Muthigani from Kenya. In the morning, William Turnbull explained to us how to create and operate a commission for the protection of minors and people in vulnerable situations in our respective sectors.

The first murder in human history was caused by jealousy. Cain killed his brother. The word “sin” appears here for the first time in the Bible! This is significant! “Original sin” is not the sin of Adam and Eve. The first sin was between human beings. The first sin was to allow violence born of jealousy and a refusal to accept differences to thrive.
